2009!

Happy New Year!!

Tomorrow is hopefully our second to last day of filming...we are going to get the paddec ell shots in the morning. This will take quite a while to set up as its mainly a set and prop based shot! So setting up the ares may take a while. Then after this we need to venture back to the alley and re film a few shots that we decided we didn't like too much. then after that HOPEFULLY we are done!

I have now edited all the final cut shots on a separate mac while Kat contiuned on imove with the actual video, as i had briefly used final cut before. I transfered the clips over and simply uploaded them. I made a copy of them all first as a back-up as this was the first time i had used final cut and it's always best to be on the safe side. I had watched a few tutorials at home on youtube on the basics of final cut and made a few written and mental notes to take back to room 101 when editing. Once i got to grips with it...it actualy turned out to be pretty easy! I prefered the software so much more than imovie...simply becuase it is much more prescise and the detail of what you can do to your footage is so precise!

The shots that are in the video that we edited with final cut are...
  1. The shot in the alley at the first chorus of both versions of the girl - i simply layered one shot over the other and cropped the edges down on one, so both chacters can be seen in the frame.
  2. Shot of 4 versions of bad girl to the lines "tapping their feet" and "grooving to their own song" These two shots have both infact consit of four differnt clips layered and cropped together. It was quite dificult to get the timing correct for the tapping the feet shot as each charcter with each clip must tap their feet at the same time, and then also align the whole thing with the music. It really isn't very complicated, but it did just test my patience a little bit!
  3. The final verse - this is where both charcters become face to face and perform dialogue to each other. Very similar to the first shot but this is more of a close up and is set within the multistory car park.
